Douze Points in Athens!

Douze Points arrived in Athens on Saturday afternoon. Rehearsals and Press Conferences were by then already underway.

All the action started on Thursday when the semi finalists began rehearsing.

On Thursday and Saturday, Armenia - Poland took to the stage and on Friday and Sunday it was the turn of Russia - Iceland.

All the rehearsals seem to be going so well so far. The acts generating the biggest audiences have, unsurprisingly been Sweden and Finland (left).

The weakest vocal performance that we have heard since we arrived is Iceland, who has been all over the Greek press due to her swearing on the stage whilst rehearsing and the 'incident' at her press conference. Journalists were told at the press conference that they were not to look Silvia Night in the eye but one journalist ignored this and was immediately 'thrown out' by security! General opinion is that this was all set up..

Carola

Carola had, by far, the biggest audience at her press conference. She came across as being a really nice person and completely won over the audience. She is really happy to be representing Sweden in Eurovision again after 15 years and decided to do it because the time was just right. Her rehearsal went well and included the ever popular costume change mid way through the performance.

Parties:

Several parties took place over the weekend. On Sunday it was the turn of Macedonia, Belarus, Cyprus, Ukraine and Poland. The Macedonian party was attended by many delegations from the Eastern European countries such as Croatia, Albania, Slovenia, Ukraine, Poland and Bosnia. The Dutch girls, 'Treble' were also there - a really nice group of girls. Everyone was so friendly and happy to chat.

Macedonia hosted a party at the Embassy
Netherlands: very friendly and chatty
Poland: note new hair colour!

The evening ended at 'Euroclub' where the Polish and Ukrainian delegations were holding their parties. Both countries performed on stage and then partied into the early hours.

Croatia and the Netherlands unite!
